I am not sure how I missed your post Leah. Things are going well! Did you ever find any spotted Boers? Where is the pictures? How is your new dairy doe doing? They were just talking about goats milk on Oprah the other day. I posted a link about it in the coffeeshop.

Did everyone go shopping Friday? Not me, I wasn't brave enough to face the cold or the crowds! I stayed home in bed. Heard there was some good deals though. I sure hated to hear about that Wal-Mart employee that was trampled to death though, isn't that just ridiculous that something like that could happen? I think so! It has bothered me ever since I read about it.

Well my goats finally trashed my wooden hay feeder....again. :hammer: I guess if I want one that will last I will just have to bite the bullet and buy a metal one! But Jamey fixed the milkstand! It was getting pretty old and rickity! Now it has a brand new ramp, sides and platform and bracing for the legs.

We got snow this morning, not much but enough to shake me out of the nice winter denial I was trying to stay in thank you very much. No denying winter is here now. :?

Hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving!

I yes have 2 spotted goats I am waiting to pick up.
The buck black with moon spots ABGA reg. 99% will be ready to get the second week of Jan. The doeling is in Texas and needs a ride any time after next week. I may have to just drive down and get her, I was hoping she could hitch a ride with someone coming back from there and need to spend some time posting looking for someone.
I LOVE the milk goat, she faithfully gives me a quart a day. I have a couple of goats that look like they are expecting this month, which means one of the break outs last summer is going to result in winter kids.......which I hate.
So we'll see.
I've never had any luck with wooden feeders, I have two lovely ones my husband made that lasted a few months at the most.
Leah

Congrats on the new buck! I hope you will share some pictures of him when you get him home! I may just have to talk to you in the future to see if you would be interested in letting me bring a doe over to breed to him next year. I have a doe that I know bred to the right buck will produce spots, she has done it once before and that is the one color missing out here...spots! :D ( I love spotted goats).

Where have I been? I ask myself that some days!
First, we moved over the last 2 to 2-1/2 months. (Yes, it took that long - don't ask!)
Then we've had one family crisis after another. (Again - don't ask, I'll bore you to tears.)
Just let it be said that I'm looking forward to the end of 2008!
Dona

Hi Dona!

I hate to hear things have been so hectic and 2008 has been a bad year for you! But I am so glad you are back, I have missed you!

I don't envy your move at all, I imagine it would take us longer than that to move if we ever decided too. It took me over a year to get everything unpacked when we moved out here. (Which is a pretty good indictation we have a lot of stuff we don't need if it could sit in a box for a year  )

You could never bore us, I sure hate to hear your family has been through so much lately though.
