One of the horse forums I use to belong to had an area, like the coffee shop where they posted chit/chatty things. They would have a opening subject/title and everyone would go to that one area to post until there were a 100 or so posts and then a new subject/title would be open. It was easy to find where everyone was posting. Some people who did not have time to read all the other posts and post to them would always check in there, just an idea, if that makes sense.......actually I think my first post was clearer,,,,,,,but now I'm cold after being outside and my brain is frozen!

so you are asking for a group topic that everyone would be interested in talking about?

Sounds like an interesting idea. It requires having an inviting topic that everyone wants to be a part of.

Or are you saying that someone starts a topic and then any kind of topic can branch off of it in the posts? Kind of like a Random posting spot?

It wasn't so much that it was a topic they all talked about as much as a place where posters went to just discuss/comment on other things or things that did fit into e of the other topics. Like now in the Coffee Shop here there are a bunch of different threads. If there was just one place everyone post there until it is full then start a new post. It takes a lot of time to figure out where it might be apporiate to post something that might be helpful to someone.
Like yesterday, I would have dropped into the Coffeeshop, grapped a cup of Espresso and told you all how I lost and found my puppy and found out that for kids that can't stand up and are weak in their rearends, a Vit E capsule, pricked with a couple of holes and sqeezed in their mouths 3-4X day would work miracles. As after having done it over the last 48 hrs, yesterday I didn't even recognized these kids they looked that good. I don't have the time to go figure out where I should post it, but I could sure drop by the Coffee Shop and chat a minute..........does that make any sense?

It is the "new topic" button. You don't have to find the "right" place to write something. Feel free to start any topic you like, even if you are just having a bad day and want to vent.

yup we enjoy just about anything and are here to uplift if people need a shoulder to vent or cry on.

I just set up a topic called "Hows your day going?" for an easy place to talk about chit chatty things, conversation style when we don't have time to look through other topics or we don't want to start a new topic just to talk about how our days are going or things like that with no worries about staying on a certain topic. It is pinned at the top of the Country Coffee Shop so it will always be easy to find. Thank you for the suggestion I think it was a good idea.
